Hey guys! I’m back again today to show you all the newest addition to my makeup collection: the Lorac Pro Contour Palette!
You know, when I first heard that they were coming out with a contour palette I thought to myself “Great, another contour palette”. But you know what? I still decided to get it, and I’m so glad that I did!
Let’s start off with the boring stuff first…The packaging.
Lorac has stuck to pretty much the same design as all of their other products. The black packaging, white font, and camera flashes all over the place. I was kind of surprised by the size of the box, though. It was pretty bulky compared to the size of the palette. It’s almost 3 times the width of the palette! Maybe they did that to reduce possible breakage while being shipped to stores? I don’t know, but it’s big!
A big ol happy bonus to this palette is that it comes with a contour brush! Let’s keep in mind that at $45, this palette runs around the same price as the Kat Von D, Smashbox, and Anastasia contour palettes so I really didn’t have high expectations for this brush since it didn’t seem to bump the price up any. Well, I was delighted to find out that the bristles were dense enough to pick up just the right amount of product, yet soft enough to blend everything out to perfection! The instruction booklet that the palette comes with says to use the flat side of the brush to pat on the highlighters and the dome of the brush to apply the contour colors. Such a practical little brush this is!
Guys…let me tell you about these powders. When I dipped my fingers into the pan to swatch them out, I was in awe. It felt like happy clouds dancing on my fingertips! haha But really, the powders are so SO soft and buttery. It’s like a dream. They’re beautiful, pigmented, soft, and blend out so easily. Pretty much everything you want in a contour palette!
According to Lorac, the matte shades of the highlighters can be mixed to create the perfect color for you! Same goes for all three colors of the contour shades!
Anyway, that’s all I’ll say about the palette for now. Time for close ups and swatches!
Once again, the palette runs for $45 and at the moment it is only available to Ulta Platinum members. It launches online to everyone on June 14th and will be available in Ulta stores on June 28th!
Hope you all enjoyed the swatches! Until next time!
